Debt and Getting out

Man its crazy how debt follows you and is like quick sand.

I finally at the beginning of this year got my credit card debt down to about 200 dollars. I was happy but then I got relaxed and it grew to 2,500 now. It feels like no matter how much i work at it it keeps growing.

Ive tried everything from leaving it at home or budgetting my income. Since Im a student and have inconsistent work and income its hard to judege how much I will have coming in and how often that will be.

Then this year I got the harsh reality of realizing the world now views me as an adult. I realized this when a hospital bill came in with my name saying I owe X amount. I figured whatever and put the letter to the side. Then another letter came in saying they will contact a credit agency to report me. This raised red flags because I have read so much saying to always watch my credit score because its as important as an education and breathing.

Now as an adult they dont go through my parents its straight to me! So i have to keep an eye on the mail to make sure there arent any bills coming in.

Warnings! Be careful with credit cards and be aware of your age because once you turn 21 the bills are waiting to make a dash at your wallet!

Recession

Recession: AHHHH

Not really, I think it is a foot in the door for those who want to get their feet cemented in the stock market. Stocks all around are greatly discount to affordable rates.

I just finished an internship and I invest about 700 dollars of my income into buying stocks such as GE and BAC. If these grow to the amount the stock was worth in September of last year I will have a few thousand dollars worth of stock. I use sharebuilder and the dividends that get paid are automatically invested and buys portions of stocks. This is good because in all investing books Ive read they talk about how stocks are for the long term. SO 10 to 15 years from now I will have a stock portfolio that is worth a lot more than the original amount I invested. (which is the main objective of investments... chea!) Big companies like GE havent had their stocks this low since about 20 years ago. I think the market will pick up in about a year or 2 so if you have any money that you can invest I would recommend it!

Anybody else have any stocks they recommend buying while the prices are still low???
